Residencies & Workshops

  • BCLT Literary Translation & Creative Writing Summer School at the University of East Anglia 2015 & 2017: a week-long German to English translation workshop looking at a text by German-Icelandic author Kristof Magnusson (2015) and a week-long Multilingual Prose workshop with translator Daniel Hahn.

  • Arvon Foundation Literary Translation Retreat 2016: I spent a week together with other literary translators developing my work alongside translators Maureen Freely and Daniel Hahn.

  • Cove Park Literary Translation Residency, November 2019: I won one of six places on a writer’s residency for Translation Week 2019, run in partnership with the National Centre for Writing and Publishing Scotland. Here, I spent time working on my upcoming co-translation of Selim Özdoğan’s Die Tochter des Schmieds (translated with Katy Derbyshire).

  • Shadow Heroes Translation Workshops, 2020: I presented two workshops on the challenges of translating sound in Turkish pop at secondary schools in London.
